Liquid Light 1983–2003

Liquid Light 1983–2003 brings together twenty years of Fabien Baron’s personal photographic work, drawn from more than 2,000 photographs made along the coasts of Eastern America, Western Europe and the Mediterranean.

Working with long exposures and the recurring structure of sea, horizon and sky, Baron transforms geographical landscapes into meditative fields of light and colour. Through subtle variations of atmosphere, time and tone, the photographs gradually approach abstraction while retaining the physical presence of the horizon.

Published by Steidl in 2008, this first-edition monograph has long been out of print and has become increasingly difficult to find, particularly in untouched condition.

This Galerie Chapon copy is a rare example preserved in new, unopened condition and remains factory sealed in its original plastic wrapping more than fifteen years after publication.
